That’s probably the defining moment in the history of our practice, because it was something that enabled us to take a novel approach to find the law and get the benefit for our client that nobody else could promise. Business was built on referrals. Business was built on good will. Business was built on satisfied customers. I don’t leave at night until every phone call is returned, or at least we try to return every phone call, at least leave a message. That’s the way my mother taught me I was supposed to behave. Give the news whether it’s good news or bad news, people want to hear the news. They want to know how their day went in court. Well, I suppose the biggest problem somebody has when they come to see us is choosing the right lawyer. Somebody that’s going to give them value for their money, somebody that they can trust, somebody that’s going to give them advice. It’s easy to give people good news and sometimes it’s hard to give them bad news, but what I guess what people are really looking for is honesty. You have the opportunity to really make a profound difference in their life if you try to do the right thing for them, or help them to do the right thing. I think that after doing this for twenty years, we have a pretty good opportunity to assess whether their expectations are realistic or not. When we talk about community service, the firm is a sponsor of a radio show that goes over the air, American network every week on common law. My mother used to say that common sense isn’t common. I think that the primary philosophy should be that when people come in here, they have a problem, that they’re going to need somebody that’s nice, that’s attentive, that’s qualified to help them with their problem, and that they’re going to know they’re going to get them value for the money that they spent. And when they leave here, they’re in better shape then they were before they got here. We’re not here to make friends with the judges, we’re not here to have lunch with lawyers we’re here to represent the client.
