Victim Number 5 Litigation

I represented a young man who became known in the public as Victim Number 5, but that man known as Victim Number 5 has a name, has an identity. He is a warm, genuine, sincere, young man. He has a loving family. He has a wonderful girlfriend and he has made the most he can of his life, but he was horribly assaulted in the shower by Jerry Sandusky on the campus of Penn State University back in 2001. That led him to seeking my legal counsel. After the Sandusky matter broke many lawyers received phone calls I’m sure. This particular man reached out to me. I made it my goal. I actually made it my mission so that his voice could be heard through mine. He remained anonymous, but I became a spokesperson for him and through that process I believe a spokesperson for all of those who have been abused and who have been victimized by men like Mr. Sandusky. I was proud of the moment that I stood on the steps of the courthouse in Centre County in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania and told the international press corps that justice had been served when Mr. Sandusky was convicted and that my next job was to seek compensation and seek recourse with Penn State, which we successfully did. And as it turned out I was able to obtain the first settlement on behalf of a Penn State Sandusky victim. Something that I’m very proud of.
