Most Gratifying Case
Over the last 18 years, we’ve handled many North Carolinian truck and accident cases. But one particular case sticks out in my mind. This case involved a young mother who was pregnant with twins traveling down our highway. While she was traveling down the highway, she was struck by a tractor-trailer. Following the accident, she was transported to the hospital where she was forced to give birth to the twins. Unfortunately, one of the twins did not survive during the birth; however, the other child did survive, but has suffered difficulties since. We officially filed a claim with the insurance carrier, however, the driver of the vehicle only had $300,000 in insurance coverage which was not sufficient to take care of the needs of the surviving twin. We did some research, performed an investigation, and it was our hunch that there was more insurance coverage out there that the individual was not forthcoming with. As a result, we filed a lawsuit. Upon following that lawsuit, and going through the discovery process, we found and uncovered that there was another $1000000 policy out there. As a result, we were able to recover a total of $1.3000000 for this family. The majority of that money went to the surviving twin who has suffered cognitive difficulties and educational difficulties as a result of this accident. Fortunately, due to our diligence and our recovery of the full amount of insurance coverage available, this surviving twin will now be taken care of both medically and educationally for the rest of her life. We were very proud of what we accomplished in this case.
