Explaining Workers Compensation
I get asked every day to explain the North Carolina Workers’ Compensation process from potential clients. In North Carolina, we have what’s called a no-fault Workers’ Comp system. What that means is that whether you are injured on the job, if it’s your fault or the fault of someone else, you’re entitled to recover benefits.
In North Carolina, you are entitled to recover benefits for your medical treatment, any lost wages which are recoverable at 66% of your average weekly wage. You are also entitled to mileage to and from the doctor’s, and any prescriptions that are going to help you get better.
At the end of your case, depending on whether you are able to return back to work or not will depend on what type of settlement recovery you would have available. If you would like to discuss those options and discuss your rights, please contact me directly at 1-800-387-6406. All consultations are free, and they will be with me directly.
