Vehicle Protection under California Lemon Law

When you’re talking about buying a vehicle for a business reason, and whether or not the California Lemon Law applies to that particular vehicle – yes, the California Lemon Law applies to that vehicle unless you own more than five in California. So if it’s less than five, yes, the California Lemon Law will apply. You have exactly the same California Lemon Law protections if you lease the vehicle versus if you bought it. There’s no distinction. What’ll happen is if you lease a car, and the manufacturer agrees to repurchase or take that car back – they’re going to pay off that lease with the bank or whoever’s financing it. They’re going to give you your monthly payments back, and you’re going to be done with that car – whether it’s a lease or a purchase, it doesn’t really matter. When I get a case, I do my best to resolve that case as quickly as possible. I want to talk to the consumer, explain to the consumer what their rights are under the California Lemon Law and get that thing over with and done as quickly as possible so they can move on with their life – because I know it’s really important.
