I’m a consumer advocate, I represent individuals typically, I specialize in California Lemon Law cases, and when people call me on the phone they don’t even know what their rights are. They need help, and they need me to explain to them “Hey, you’ve got a right to have your money back,” or “you have a right to have another vehicle.”

How Do I Get Money Back for Lemon Law Case?

In California to get your money back – for a Lemon Law case – what you need is something called a substantial nonconformity, and that could be something like engine stalling, that could be something like the sunroof wouldn’t close, that could be something like the door locks don’t open and you’re trapped in the car. It has to be something substantial, and it has to affect someone’s use, value, or safety of the car. It’s not necessary for me to actually physically meet someone. Someone can call my 800 number, send me their information, I’ll review that information, and I’ll get the information out to the manufacturer, and sometimes I don’t even meet the consumers personally. I’ll have spoken to them on the phone, I’ll have corresponded by email, and so will know what’s going on and I can do a case that way. So it’s not really necessary that person be 10 miles from my office, or 15 miles, or next door. I can do cases all over the place.

When I get a case I do my best to resolve that case as quickly as possible. I want to talk to the consumer, explain to the consumer what their rights are under the California Lemon Law, and get that thing over with and done as quickly as possible so they can move on with their life because I know it’s really important.
