Practice Areas and Legal Philosophy

My name is John Nachlinger. I am a New Jersey divorce and family law attorney. Our office is like a family. When we bring clients into our firm we make sure that they feel like they are sitting at home talking to a friend. Divorce is too expensive to no feel that your divorce attorney is not completely devoted to your case. I ensure the clients know about everything that goes on in their case and are completely involved in every aspect of decision making. This is their life, not mine. My clients will know that I deeply care about getting them through the process. When I meet with a potential client I let them do most of the talking. I really don’t want them to feel limited in terms of what they can say to me. Many issues surrounding the breakdown of the marriage are not important to the divorce but they are important to the client.

Getting to Know Clients

I want to know my clients so that I can always get a feeling of what’s truly important to them and what they need in order to end their marriage. At the first consultation I am very clear with every client that I will not tell them what they want to hear. I find it important to make sure people know both their worst case scenario and most likely result of their divorce from day one. Although, it would be easy to say that I’ve handled over 700 divorces and I’ve seen just about everything. It’s my life experience having grown up in Texas that has given me unique viewpoint into handling divorce in New Jersey. The southern mentality gives me some concrete advantages both in terms of temperament and perspective.
