Gorelick Law Office Overview

I’m Lynn Gorelick, and I have been practicing law since 1983. I have over 30 years experience being a criminal defense attorney, and I have a specialty in DUI defense. I’m an expert in the DUI defense area. I found it interesting be.cause it was challenging. There’s a lot of science involved, and I enjoy and appreciate the science. I also find that people who are accused of DUI are generally treated, societally, differently than other people who are charged with other crimes.

I come from a family that is greatly invested in justice. I don’t like it when people are treated differently than other people by virtue of a mistake that they’ve gotten themselves into. All the system sees is black and white. So, police report is black and white. The police do what they’re going to do and they do a perfectly wonderful job. However, when they write a police report, it’s written for one purpose and one purpose only, and that is to convict. As a lawyer, it is my responsibility to gather as much information as I can about the underlying case, and as much information as I can about who my clients are. They have to be portrayed as people, as individuals, as sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, people who are charged with crimes, including DUI. Need to have the opportunity for the system to truly understand who they are – “My clients are terrified.

My clients are ashamed. My clients can’t sleep, can’t eat.” Being arrested is a very traumatic event. For the most part, this is probably the worst thing that’s ever happened in their lives. I am not a shake your hand and plead you guilty kind of lawyer. I do the work. I do the investigation. Each case is broken down into small components, each of which requires a certain amount of specific investigation. Is there a video? Is there audio? Is everyone trained the way they are supposed to be trained?

Experience

My clients also know that they can call me and they can be in touch with me. You don’t have to make an appointment to have a phone conversation with me. I’m the one who is there to provide a certain level of understanding, compassion, and relieve that overwhelming sense of shame often times that people have when they’ve been arrested. When you come to me, you are going to have not only 30 plus years of experience, but also you will have a lawyer who will be your lawyer. You will not be pawned off onto an associate, junior attorney, law clerk. It’s me; I will be your lawyer. I’m familiar with the courts. I’m familiar with the judges. I’m familiar with the district attorneys. My reputation speaks for itself, my clients are happy. They feel and so they can represent it well and that’s a reflection years, and years, and years of what in my opinion is doing the right thing, being smart about it, and fighting aggressively for my clients.

Take the opportunity to speak with someone, to discuss all levels of your case. You need to know what your defenses are, you need to know how you could helped. The system is complicated and frightening. It’s not something that you want to do on you own. Call the Gorelick call offices. I will be there for you.
