Introduction
You’ve been involved in a situation and you don’t think you’ve committed a crime, but now you’ve learned that the police want to come talk to you. Should you talk to them or not? Hello. My name is Dan Cogdell, I’m a criminal defense lawyer here in the state of Texas. If you’ve been involved in a situation and you learn that the police are looking for you, here’s a few things you need to know.
Police Are Suspicious
First off, understand that the police are under a great deal of pressure to solve crimes. They are suspicious by nature. They are accusatory by nature.
The second thing that you need to know is it doesn’t really matter if the police find it suspicious or more suspicious if you don’t talk to them. What matters to you most is to make sure that you’ve got a competent lawyer to advise you on whether or not to make a statement and how to make that statement if making a statement is in your best interest.
Lastly, the most important thing for you to do is to contact an experienced criminal defense lawyer who can aid you and assist and help you. If the police are looking for you and they want to come talk to you, call us. We can help you. It’s what we do. It’s what I’ve done for 32 years. And if I can help you, I will.
