Contingency Fee Agreement

Hi. This is Brian Eisen of the Eisen Law Firm. I’m here to talk to you today about the contingency fee agreement. Under a contingency fee agreement, an attorney only earns a professional fee if he or she wins the case for a client. I love working for clients on a contingency fee basis. Most importantly, the contingency fee aligns the lawyers interests with those of the client. The better the result for the client, the more money the lawyer makes.

Limited Financial Risk for Clients

In addition to working only on a contingency fee basis, we at the Eisen Law Firm do something else that helps our clients. We take on all of the financial risks of our cases. We spend the money necessary to achieve the right result for the client. In the event that we are unsuccessful, we eat those expenses. We do not expect clients of the Eisen Law Firm to have to lay out anything to support their cases.

Since we are taking all the financial risks in cases and since those risks can be very large, you can bet it’s in our incentive to work our butts off on behalf of our clients. I am proud that at the Eisen Law Firm we work only on a contingency fee basis. I will never have to turn to a client and say, “I’m sorry we lost, but I spent 2,000 or 3,000 or 5,000 hours on your case. Please pay me now.” It just doesn’t work that way. We get paid only if we win and that’s how it ought to be.
