Discharge of Debts in Florida

Well the ultimate goal of filing for bankruptcy is to obtain a discharge of your debts. In a Chapter 7 bankruptcy your discharge is entered in about (90) to about (120) days after the case is filed. In a Chapter 13 bankruptcy the discharge is entered (5) years after the bankruptcy case is filed. But that doesn’t mean that you’re technically in bankruptcy for (5) years. In a Chapter 13 your case usually is confirmed within about (6) months. Then there after you’re making monthly payments. After your last payment is made is when you get your discharge in a Chapter 13.
