Legal Philosophy

My name is Polly Tatum and I created Mediation Advantage because I passionately believe in the benefits that mediation can provide you during this trying time. I spent most of my life before mediation in Human and Civil Service and I have seen from the inside how poorly equipped the court system is to handle in matters as sensitive and emotionally charged as divorce, custody, child support, and parenting schedules. In short, the court system often leaves families torn apart, parents angry, and children neglected. This is not a healthy approach to uncoupling, because although you may have fallen out of love, the process of separation should still be done with kindness and fairness.

Litigation Experience

I myself negotiated my own divorce settlement as a mother of three children a long time ago, and it really was one of the best decisions I made for myself, my children, and the family unit. My ex and I are still friends to this day, and although that might not be the future situation for you and your partner, it speaks to the power of mediation. We were able to part ways with civility, thereby protecting our most important assets of all, our children.  My mission is to change how divorce is done, allowing you to move forward in your life with peace of mind, knowing that your assets and your relationship with your children are secure. I hope that you will consider Mediation Advantage as you move into the next chapter of your life.
