Legal Principles

Hello. I’m Michelle Lombino, a partner at Jaburg and Wilk, and a business lawyer, and certified understanding-based mediator. You might call it that. I’ve seen a lot of suffering clients over the years. I have often thought that if they slowed down and took the time to use the neutral mind, that they might have avoided the very situation in which they now find themselves. Creating a written draft, and reviewing, and revising it multiple times if necessary.

Legal Philosophy

Time and time again, I have seen that when parties take the time to review and revise a written draft and think it through, that they achieve a clarity, that they see the big and small details, the big and small issues. They develop an awareness that might have been lacking before. Again, it’s a matter of slowing down. Taking the time to be fully present to yourself, to be fully present to all of your emotions, your thoughts, your feelings, your motivations, what your primary interest is instead of rushing to judgement, instead of allowing your anger and frustration to dictate a legal strategy.
